Brandon Newton

Brandon Newton was born in Clearwater, Florida and moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia when he was two years old. He studied under Durwood Dommisse at VCU as a Visual Communications major. Brandon has enjoyed many notable commissions from private party clients as well as corporate and Government Institutions. He currently resides in Fredericksburg with his wife and two girls.

Relatively new to any art scene, I feel art and communication have a major influence on my life. I have had work displayed recently in local restaurants and shops in Historic Fredericksburg and belong to an art co-op named Art First. I view my work as an opportunity to reach out and let others in. My passion to paint comes from a deep desire to communicate and better understand the things that surround me. I find it difficult to paint things that I do not understand. Painting allows me the opportunity to be still with life, to observe, to learn, and to paint. Spending the majority of my youth in the outdoors on my ATV coming across wildlife, hidden ponds and abandoned (or at the time unoccupied) tree houses, I realized early in life my need to share my love of interesting places and the outdoors with others. This is life the way I see it.
